I put everything on hold on hold till we had on boarded a new lorry trailer in our principal business, which has been an extensive project this year and that once we started collecting the replacement trailer; we needed to spend time on it and more than a week off was required to get it assimilated. While I wait to start Big First Self Edit on LHR, I am moving on to The Other Side books, which is fun and low-stakes research and drafting new scenes.
Hard to write anything in the face of the world situation that I for one cannot influence.
Hard to think of writing adventure stories with a happy ending when you cannot see one suddenly.
My father fought in WW2 – just a boy like all the others. My mum was a little girl and but for him surviving that war I would not be typing this. He is long dead now – never saw a mobile phone nor the Internet. I’m pretty sure he’d be disgusted at us all.
My writing is a bit ‘off’ this week. My old laptop died. Another I wore out and though I have a second, the first will need replacing and honestly Today, I Can’t See The Point.
Don’t give up. It matters.

The daily work on the manuscript continues with Pro Writing Aid critiques – they are in the cusp of introducing their whole ms feed back but even the level I am using currently is very cheering to do and I won’t be starting self-edit phase until mid to end March so by then I will have a lot of feed back to think about before anything gets booked with an Editor.
I finished the rewrite read through of October Mornings and In Plain Sight – effectively both now 2nd drafts and story edited for continuity.

Rotten weather here, but a more cheerful Writer-mood kept me inside and working on progress finishing up the activity on book 1 and cleaning it’s files/ backing up etc so i can move on to setting up Book 2.
Took advantage of the nice days to get out to favourite haunts.
And everyone here at home enjoyed the views and sun.
Not the best of weeks one way or another. No reading or rewriting continued due to just not feeling I wanted to continue with the frame of mind I was in. But Rufus kept me company😀 he always cheers me up😀
